Community Setting Services

“Adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) are potentially traumatic events that can have negative, lasting effects on health and well-being. These experiences range from physical, emotional, or sexual abuse to parental divorce or the incarceration of a parent or guardian.”

-ACE Aware Ireland

Communities need to get ACEs informed!

Research into the development of resiliency during childhood and the role it plays in protecting against the long-term effects of ACEs into adulthood, has established a number of protective factors, particularly safe, stable, and nurturing relationships (SSNR) that play a significant role in protecting against adverse childhood Experiences.

Strengthening these protective facts through individual client work, parent support and delivery of training in the area of ACEs to other supporting agencies and professionals is central to the work I do.
